The Harzreise is a reflection on the Harz as an area where man and nature still meet. It is inspired by Heinrich Heine’s ‘Harzreise’ of 1828. The atmosphere and the places the poet described twohundred years ago, are still there for those with eyes to see. I used a pinhole camera 4×5 and cyanotypes. Cyanotype as printing technique was developed in 1842, during the lifetime of Heine. His texts, the pinhole box and the cyanotype printing made me feel like time travelling while working on the project. The project resulted in a hand made book with the unique prints in it.
